New physios join the CoActive Team in 2018!
Our regular clients will be aware that Sarah and Abi are each having 3 months leave from clinic work at the start of 2018 – Abi will working abroad supporting the British Parasnowsports team at the Paralympics and Sarah will be on her maternity leave. We are therefore delighted to welcome to the team David and Jenny, who will be looking after all our clients during the period from start of January to end of March 2018- Sarah and Abi will be returning to clinic week of 2nd April 2018. Sarah will still be running the clinic/taking bookings and enquiries during her leave, and for the first few weeks of january will be working alongside David and Jenny to ensure a smooth transition of patient care.
Jenny Cross BSc MCSP
Senior Chartered Physiotherapist
Jenny graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2009 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy. Since then she has gained significant experience working in both the National Health Service and private practice. She has completed various placements and training in key areas of musculoskeletal outpatients, community physiotherapy, Orthopaedics, respiratory, neurological rehabilitation, elderly rehabilitation and has been involved in managing medicolegal cases.
Jenny is committed to furthering her physiotherapy skills and knowledge through ongoing professional development. Since completing her physiotherapy degree she has attended regular courses and gained a further diploma in sports and exercise nutrition, as well as qualifications in sports massage and fitness training. Jenny is heavily involved in sports and has worked with Great Britain Men’s handball senior team, supporting them at the IHF Emerging Nations Championship in Bulgaria, as well as Great Britain Police Basketball team at their semi-final tour to Luxembourg. She has prolonged experience in Rugby and is currently the first team physiotherapist for North Wales Crusaders Rugby League. She enjoys the buzz of covering matches and treating athletic injuries from the acute stage to return to play.
Jenny is a conscientious and motivated physiotherapist who strives to do the best for her patients. We are delighted to welcome Jenny to CoActive Physio, where she will be treating clients in clinic as well as leading some of the Pilates classes. Outside of her work she enjoys keeping fit, travelling, and spending time with her furry babies – her cats!
David Leyden BSc MCSP
Senior Chartered Physiotherapist
David graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy. He is currently completing the final stages of an MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy Practice specialising in musculoskeletal conditions, after which he will gain Advanced Practitioner status.
Having worked across a variety of NHS trusts, David has gained experience in key areas of physiotherapy, including musculoskeletal outpatients and orthopaedics, developing an excellent foundation in managing a wide variety of conditions. Alongside his passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy, David enjoys working in sport, particularly football, in which he has worked as an academy physiotherapist for Manchester City Football Club. David also works at international level as physiotherapist for Northern Ireland Football U-17’s, having recently attended the qualifying stages for European Championships in Malta alongside a number of other competitions.
David is constantly continuing his own professional development in order to provide first class treatment for his patients. Alongside his ongoing MSc studies he enjoys keeping up to date with gold standard practice through attending regular lectures and workshops.
David brings all his skills and experience together in a tailored yet holistic management approach to achieve the most for every patient. We are excited to welcome him to the CoActive team and we know he will provide excellent care for our clients. David will also be taking some of the Pilates classes, integrating his physiotherapy knowledge and skills with Pilates guided exercise, and utilising his training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute.
Outside of his busy physiotherapy commitments, David has a wide variety of interests ranging from sport to languages. From a young age he has had a keen interest in sports, particularly gaelic football, skiing and swimming. He has played football at both club and county level. David also enjoys travelling and has recently returned from trekking in Nepal!
